Baylor Teen Clinic offers Centering Pregnancy. The goals of this program are to improve birth outcomes, assist young parents lay the foundation for a stable family, and promote the long-term financial security of their children.
Centering Pregnancy is an alternative to traditional prenatal care for women ages 14-23. It is a group-centered model that integrates health assessment, education, and support. Expectant mothers and their partners or support person may both attend.
Centering Pregnancy consists of 10, 2-hour sessions, comprised of 8 to 12 pregnant women with similar delivery dates who enter the program at the beginning of their second trimester. Each group includes individual prenatal medical checks and then group curriculum dealing with pregnancy and birth.
